From New York Magazine:
The cast for Aaron Sorkin's HBO pilot More As the Story Develops is pretty much complete: Josh Pence, John Gallagher Jr., and Thomas Sadoski have all signed on for the show, which stars Jeff Daniels as cable-news anchor and Emily Mortimer as his new producer and former flame.
(Or, well, okay, from Deadline, but Deadline was calling it "More as This Story Develops," so I wanted a different source.)

This is from the end of April, but now that more of us have read the leaked script, it might be more enjoyable: We Break Down the Aaron Sorkin Hallmarks in His New HBO Pilot Script. (Spoilers, obviously, if you haven't read the script.)

Did you catch anything they missed? Were they any Sorkin hallmarks you were either disappointed or relieved to see weren't in there?

Personally, I want to know when we can expect a Dan(ny)...

EDIT: How'd we miss this? Emily Mortimer is now in talks for the role of Mackenzie. Marissa Tomei was originally in talks for that role.

Deadline reports "Olivia Munn & Alison Pill In Negotiations For Aaron Sorkin's HBO Pilot, Marisa Tomei Closes In On Female Lead."
Tentatively titled More As This Story Develops, the project centers on cable news anchor Will McCallister (Jeff Daniels), who has his own show, as well as the show's female executive producer and staff. Tomei, repped by CAA and Untitled, is poised to play the executive producer, MacKenzie, for whom producing the news is what she does best and everything else is tied for last place. Pill will play Maggie, an associate producer on the assignment desk. Munn, repped by CAA and Mosaic, will play a sexy financial analyst on the same cable network as McCallister.

The Hollywood Reporter says Alan Poul, producer-director of Six Feet Under, will executive produce the pilot. It also mentions that Scott Rudin will be a producer on the show.

Jeff Daniels in the running for Sorkin series.

The article comes with a tidbit saying the lead role was written for an actor in his 40s.

Thoughts?
